Further to that, his role will focus on growth in the agency involving new business and how we can plan and implement our 5-year vision.
MediaCom’s global product roll-out
An accomplished media marketing catalyst, Shaneel has been promoted to identify and maximise new areas of growth for brands to increase return on marketing investment, which is in line with MediaCom’s global product roll-out and ‘Seeing the Bigger Picture’ positioning. His appointment also parallels MediaCom’s evolution towards becoming a digital, data-centric agency offering unparalleled solutions to drive business growth for existing and future clients.
About his promotion, he says: “I’m humbled to be trusted within this position as Chief Product & Growth Officer. During my time at MediaCom, I have seen the brilliant work that the team creates and the amazing results we consistently deliver. I have ambitious plans for 2021, and a key element of that will be to continue on the growth trajectory we have achieved over the past year.”
Of the appointment, Ashish Williams, CEO of MediaCom SA, says: “We were excited to have Shaneel as part of the team as a Managing Partner. With this well-deserved promotion, we look even more forward to what the future holds considering the immense growth and progress experienced by MediaCom SA since his initial appointment last year.”
Maximising growth and evolution
In conjunction, MediaCom SA has also appointed Tehmeena Sather as Head of Data and Systems Intelligence Integrator. She will be instrumental in delivering end-to-end data solutions to help new and existing clients grow. The appointment of Tehmeena further entrenches MediaCom’s marketing solutions and outcomes, which is rooted in data-led principles.

Alongside the other department heads, Shaneel will focus on evolving the data, creative, and digital capabilities of MediaCom SA. This ambitious agenda will be achieved through an evolution of the agency’s ‘Systems Thinking’ philosophy, powered by products and technology, which will integrate with the wider WPP and GroupM offering. It will include a greater focus on capabilities in data, analytics, content relevance, and business outcomes.
World-class clients deserve superior approaches

These local successes echo those on a global scale. Attributed to big-picture thinking, adaptability to ever-changing circumstances, and the ability to provide clients with the solutions they needed, MediaCom dominated new-business wins with an estimated $1.2 billion in new billings over the past few months.
