MediaCom's second annual creative contest, which offers every employee around the globe the chance to contribute their photographs for the entire agency to use in presentations and across internal and external designs, saw a staggering 1,000 photographs entered.

Entrants could submit into either a People First or See The Bigger Picture category. All images were then judged by a panel of senior leaders across the business that left us with our incredibly talented prize winners. View their pictures and hear their stories below.

Grand Prix: "I was on a motorcycle tour through Rann of Kutch – a salt desert flatland in the Thar desert region of India. The skies tend to get clear in the emptiness of the desert and I knew I had to keep my motorcycle as a subject. I borrowed a tent from a nearby campsite to complete the sense of an adventure. I’ve always been intrigued by the vast expanse of the skies and what lies beyond it. Every single clear night sky for me was the reason to pursue astrophotography – to capture what our eyes cannot see and to see the bigger picture.."

Gold: "I personally like this picture, because it captured the complete opposite of what Mumbai is about. This train is empty, and seldom does that happen. People who are stressed, people who are in a hurry, people having a laugh around, people engrossed in their mobile phones. And amidst all types of people – I have my friend who decides to meditate in the middle of the coach, with no one around. I just had to capture this irony."

"Finding views and capturing interesting moments is my passion. So I‘m always ready to take pictures. My mum is in a retirement home and she is suffering from dementia. This was taken while we took her for a walk, and it's her hand and my hand in this picture. We, and especially my sister, try to take care of her, so there is a real people first theme behind it.“

"A 'travel mate' is key when deciding to go away with other people. A different person with different personalities for a certain period of time to explore something new, create moments, and have an amazing journey. This photo was taken when I went to Sumba (Indonesia) with my three friends/travel mates. We have very different personalities but that's what created an unforgettable trip. This photo showed how happy we were as a team to explore and create moments together. See you on another journey, girls!"

"Two years ago I was on a city break trip in Vienna. During my visit to the Prater, I saw so many amazing lights that adorned the amusement park that I decided to use this opportunity and make pictures that would reflect the view. People walking around, graffiti on the walls, soft lighting from shops, and the wheel in the middle made the final effect. Due to the lighting and composition, I can proudly say that this picture is one of my favourites."

"This photo was taken in Madagascar where I am originally from. I've been an opacarophile since I can remember, in Instagram terms it's called a #sunsetlover or #sunsetchaser. It has become my passion to capture the moment when the sky and earth create magic. This photo is a representation of how tiny we are compared to the vast nature around us and how each element contributes and adds to the story: the endless view, the calm sea, the color palette all coming together to make each sunset unique."
