MediaCom colleagues and clients from our LA office came together to raise funds for the 2:23 Foundation’s #FinishTheRun, a 2.23-mile run that commemorated the first anniversary of Ahmaud Arbery.
Participants were able to run/walk/bike at their leisure throughout the day. The proceeds from the registration went directly to a scholarship fund that provides young men and women the opportunity to become future lawyers, local leaders, policymakers, and social engineers.
The #FinishTheRun 2.23 mile run commemorates the first anniversary that Ahmaud Arbery was senselessly murdered while out on a run in Brunswick, Georgia. Because he could never finish his run, his family wants the running community to finish it a year after his death. Ahmaud’s family helped create the 2:23 Foundation to honor the history of social justice in Black and Brown communities by providing scholarships, creating leadership development programs to raise future district attorneys and law enforcement personnel, and growing opportunities to those looking for ways to advocate for social justice issues.
The 2:23 Foundation is committed to engaging, educating, and equipping young Black and Brown children for social justice advocacy through scholarships, training, and leadership opportunities. If you would like to learn more information or donate, please click here to learn more.
