On Saturday MediaCom joined PrideM on the march through London after a week of fantastic events at Theobalds Road. We spoke to our Chief Operations Officer Luke Bozeat about the importance of the Pride movement to him personally:
“One of my best friends at university was gay, but it wasn’t until a few years after uni that he came out. We spent our uni years having a great laugh at parties, going on holiday and living in a halls/digs. We were really close, but little did I know that he was struggling to come out. I look back at my uni years as some of the best of my life, I know he does too as we’re still good mates today. But I’m sure they would have been even better for him if he could have truly been himself. If he’d have felt that his relationships with people would be the same and that he would be accepted as who he was.
I want MediaCom to be a place where people can be themselves and feel comfortable that they will be accepted for who they are, so that they can achieve their true potential.”
Pride in London is wholly run by a group of volunteers who are passionate about equality and diversity. We would like to thank everyone who took part in joining us on this special occasion. From the people who helped bring a bit of pride into our offices to every person that attended and showed how much Pride Matters!
