Our employee resource groups based around Faith, Ethnicity, Age, LGBTQ+, Gender, Mental Health and Disability are at the heart of our commitment to diversity, equity and Inclusion. The collective voice of our ERGS ensure we understand the needs of our employees and help to support MediaCom’s inclusion strategy and they provide a sense of community, inclusion and belonging within the company.

Our people

Kate Rowlinson – Chief Executive Officer

Kate is the CEO of MediaCom UK and has been part of the MediaCom family for over ten years. Having worked across the EMEA region and extensively across MediaCom’s worldwide network, she brings a wealth of global experience.

Kate is passionate about People First, our long-standing philosophy. She has been integral to the launch of mandatory training on microaggressions and allyship, introduced to build active allies, along with a sponsorship programme to enable diverse talent to progress.

Kate has worked across several MediaCom roles, from Head of New Business & Marketing for the EMEA region, leading successful global pitches for eBay Europe, Danone and the global Mars business. Kate has also worked closely with leadership teams across EMEA, North America, Latin America and APAC to unify client servicing and service delivery.

Kate resides in London with her husband and two children.

Luke Bozeat – Chief Operating Officer

Luke joined MediaCom as a graduate in 2000 and has worked across multiple sectors including Motors, FMCG, Finance, Charity, Entertainment, Technology and Retail.

Luke has had many roles at MediaCom showing a clear indication of Luke’s understanding of end to end marketing and media's influence upon it.

In his role as COO, Luke not only looks after client accounts and is dedicated to helping them grow but as part of the Leadership team he is the oil that keeps the agency running smoothly. This is achieved by continuously evolving the agency structure to be agile in the face of an ever-changing industry, as well as investing in technology and tools that will keep MediaCom at the bleeding edge of creativity and innovation.

Elaine Bremner – Chief HR and Talent Officer

Elaine joined MediaCom in 2011 as Chief People Officer for MediaCom APAC, setting the people strategy across 13 markets. She joined the UK business in 2016 with a clear remit: deliver an industry leading people vision.

Elaine has a passion for creating opportunities for people, ensuring we give everyone the chance to thrive and have a meaningful long-term career. This has been recognised through MediaCom UK’s Gold and Platinum accreditation from the IPA for demonstrating a genuine culture of learning.

Elaine is committed to creating a culture where everyone at MediaCom feels they belong and has been instrumental in ensuring MediaCom is leading the industry in all the work we do around DE&I.

Outside of work, Elaine is a single mum to three kids, an avid Sunderland FC supporter and has a slight obsession with all things shark related.

Geoff de Burca – Chief Strategy Officer

Geoff is MediaCom CSO, having been promoted from Managing Partner: Head of CID (MediaCom’s strategy department). He has 20 years’ experience in the industry, starting out as a market researcher in 1997, before moving into media planning in 2000. He’s been at MediaCom since 2010.

He has planned across a wide range of categories with a particular interest in helping to change behaviour for a wide range of charities and public sector clients. He also has extensive experience in Retail, FMCG and Motors. Areas of focus throughout his time as a strategist include planning to drive behaviour change, and brand response planning.

Claudine Collins – Chief Client Officer

Claudine Collins is MediaCom UK’s Chief Client Officer. A member of the ExCo, her role is to ensure the client relationships and service are of the utmost quality.

Claudine has been in the industry for 30 years, forging strong, high level relationships with clients, media owners and colleagues. Starting in press buying, she became Head of Investment before being promoted to Managing Director of MediaCom UK in 2012 and subsequently Chief Client Officer in 2019.

Since 2013, Claudine has appeared in BBC1’s “The Apprentice” interviewing the final five candidates and features every year as the business expert in BBC2’s “You’re Fired!”.

Claudine is involved in numerous charities; she sits on the corporate board of CRUK and is heavily involved with the Lords Taverner's charity. From 2012 to 2019 Claudine was on the executive committee of children's charity Rays of Sunshine.

Paul Cooper – Chief Operating Officer, MediaCom North Group

Paul joined MediaCom as Regional head of Digital in 2011, launching and developing our specialist digital offering i-Lab. Paul then progressed to MD of our Manchester office, overseeing its growth and evolution into a market leader for digital activation (recently voted Drum’s 8th most respected digital operation in the UK) and growing D2C clients and dot.com brands. He also led the acquisition and integration of digital transformation specialists Code Computerlove. Paul is COO of our North operation (Leeds, Manchester, Birmingham and Code Computerlove) and has overseen its growth to the largest regional network and integration with our UK operation helping deliver One MediaCom.

A great example of this is our newly launched UK Google Practice, where we have organised all our data, engineering, CRO/UX, PPC, SEO and programmatic capability into one community that is at the forefront of how we ensure our clients use the Google ecosystem to grow their businesses powered by 1st party data.

Richard Davies – Chief Digital Officer

Richard joined MediaCom at the start of 2019 as head of digital and conversion on the Lloyds Banking Group account. He quickly expanded his remit to become the digital lead on several key accounts, including Sky, Tesco & TUI and in April 2020 he moved into the role of Chief Digital Officer.

Richard has a wealth of agency experience across both media and creative, previously leading the global Vodafone digital relationship at WPP/Wavemaker for three years and before that spending several years in the cut and thrust of management at smaller independent agencies.

A straight-talking person, Richard prides himself on client-led transformation. He brings clients the solutions he knows they need, rather than those they want, and enjoys driving change by devising strategies for substantial business issues.

Outside of work he enjoys spending time with his family, Labrador and bicycle!

Nigel Lee – Chief Commercial Finance Officer

I joined MediaCom as Chief Commercial Finance Officer in 2019, and as part of the Leadership team my role is to provide commercial insight and strategic direction to the business from a financial perspective.

Nigel has more than 20 years of experience in finance and commercial roles within practice and agencies. He started his career at PwC before joining Mindshare in 2003 followed by regional roles at GroupM and MEC based in London and Singapore. Before starting at MediaCom in 2019, and re-joining WPP, Nigel worked in various roles within Omnicom, Publicis and Dentsu.

James MacKenzie – Chief Investment Officer

James joined MediaCom in 2017 following a stint at PHD UK where his most recent role was Director of Investment. His previous experience in media and investment led to his move to MediaCom as Head of Investment. In this role, James implemented a new structure at MediaCom and maintained the agency’s relationships with clients and media owners.

Promoted to Chief Investment Officer (CIO) in 2019, James continues his success at the company following his role as Head of Investment. His new role as CIO expands on his previous work to continue MediaCom’s growth digitally and further the agency’s partnerships and investment.

Nicola Marsh – Managing Director, MediaCom Manchester

Nicola joined MediaCom North in August 2013 and has a wealth of experience working with clients across a variety of sectors. For the last 26 years, Nicola has worked across digital planning, negotiation, product development and management with a real focus on digital.

Nicola’s current role as Managing Director of Mediacom North Group and Google Practice involves managing the smooth running of the agency and ensuring our clients receive impeccable service at all levels.

Nicola is a fully accredited personal performance and corporate coach and has a keen interest for training and development. Nicola’s passion in supporting the EXCO achieve People First, Better Results involves a focus on providing a fantastic working environment for our people. To achieve this, real emphasis on creating a diverse workplace which is supportive and full of opportunity for all.

Karen Blackett OBE – Chairwoman

Karen is a proven business leader with a track record in creating vibrant cultures, energising teams and consistently delivering business growth and success. She is U.K. Country Manager for WPP, the world’s largest marketing services group, and U.K. CEO of GroupM, the world’s leading media investment company.

In June 2014, Karen received an OBE in the Queen's Birthday honours and topped the Power List, being the first woman to come in at number 1. In November 2018 Karen won the Inspirational Leader category at the Ethnicity Awards and was appointed Race Equality Business Champion by the U.K. Prime Minister.

In 2019 Karen was appointed as a Non-Executive Director for the U.K. Government Cabinet Office and has most recently been voted one of the Top 100 Great Black Britons.

Simon Price – Managing Director, MediaCom Leeds

Simon has been in the media industry for over 25 years, starting his career in the display sales department of the Bradford Telegraph and Argus after university. Following a short and disappointing career in Ad sales, he moved quickly through a variety of media agencies until he joined the Leeds based independent agency Brilliant Media in December 1999, as an Account Executive. Brilliant media was acquired by MediaCom in December 2011 and by that time Simon was a Board Director. Simon continued working in the Leeds office becoming the Managing Director in 2016 and was asked to also oversee the Birmingham office in June 2020. Simon lives near Ilkely in Yorkshire with his wife and daughter.

Satin Reid – Managing Director, UK

Satin joined MediaCom at the start of 2017 to jointly run the London office and in 2019 she became the Managing Director of the UK. She oversees our client relationships and as part of the UK ExCo is dedicated to accelerating our talent and capabilities as an agency. She is a member of WACL and MEFA and a passionate advocate for better representation and inclusivity in media.

Prior to joining MediaCom, Satin worked at Dentsu for 12 years where she was responsible for leading some of the most successful partnerships in the agency for both UK and global clients. She spent the early part of her career in media planning and strategy, building a wealth of experience around the challenges and needs of clients, across multiple categories.

David Shearer – Managing Director, MediaCom Edinburgh

After university, David started his advertising career in London before fulfilling a variety of roles at various media agencies throughout his now 32 years working in media. He joined MediaCom Edinburgh just over 20 years ago and has been Managing Director for the last 11 years. In his time at MediaCom, David has worked closely with the likes of RBS, Standard Life, Scottish Government and VisitScotland. He’s still involved across MediaCom Edinburgh’s current client portfolio such as Subway, Trivago, Tesco Bank & Scottish Widows.

David has held roles in virtually every aspect of the media business from leading strategy for brands spending tens of millions to buying niche titles for businesses spending tens of thousands. He has also co-ordinated multi-territory activities for Global and European clients.

David is married with two adult daughters and a German Shepherd named Teddy.

Sue Unerman – Chief Transformation Officer

In a world that is changing faster than any of us can quite get used to, business needs people who can not only see the next change coming, but can also explain it to the rest of us.

Sue is one of these rare people. She’s a “clarifier”.

Editor in chief at Campaign, Gideon Spanier, says: “Sue has led the way when it comes to driving change and challenging stereotypes”

In her current role she drives transformation for MediaCom and their clients.

Sue has authored 3 books: Belonging, the Key to Transforming and Maintaining Diversity, Inclusion and Equality at Work, : Esquire Magazine called it “The most important business book of the year”. The Glass Wall, success strategies for women at work and businesses that mean business and Tell the Truth, honesty is your most powerful marketing tool.
