MediaCom presents Podcast Week 2019

The week kicked off with our first session, Why podcasts are great. Podcasts reach 9 million people each week – that’s a bigger audience than The Great British Bake Off – and we delved into why people are turning to this form of entertainment at a more rapid rate than ever.

We also heard how podcasts have changed the game for clients NOW TV and Galaxy, refreshing their media plans and delivering fantastic results (you can see the full Galaxy case study here).

Next up was Who does podcasts? We were joined by Global, Spotify and Acast to really understand the offering in the space and how our brands can tap into the market.

To get us thinking outside the box, Russell Jones, Sensory Marketing Consultant spoke on how important sound is in communications. Whether it be the sound of an ice-cold beer being opened or the voice of a podcast host, brands need to get it right.

Podcast Week continued with our very own specialist content division MBA, joined by content agency Somethin’ Else, dishing out tips for podcast success and how you can make your own. It’s easier than you’d think!

Finally, we rounded off the week with special guest and podcaster Jamie Laing, in an interview hosted by Acast. Jamie spoke openly on his journey into podcasts, telling us how he loves working with brands who are open to creativity in their ads, and how podcasts are much more candid than reality TV could ever be!

Big thanks go to all those who made this week possible.
