Every day the NHS needs six thousand blood donations and each one can save or improve the lives of three people. They also need 200,000 new donors to come forward every year to meet that need.
This week our client NHS Blood are working with blood services around the world to raise awareness of the constant need for more blood donors, by removing A, O and B from the world around us, the three blood types we all take for granted will be there if we ever need them.
Last year, NHSBT ran their #MissingType campaign for the first time and hundreds of brands, celebrities and organisations got involved by dropping the letters from their social pages, website logos, and by tweeting about the campaign using the hashtag #MissingType.
The campaign was a smashing success! So much so, that we’re rolling out internationally across 21 of countries this time around. All the way from Australia to America, South Korea to Scotland and Canada to the Czech Republic. A’s, O’s & B’s will be disappearing from all walks of life to demonstrate the disruption we’d face without an active pool of donors and inspiring those who can to register. This year, we need to make even more noise, get more people, companies and brands involved and further increase the global awareness of the need for more donors. Put quite simply, we need your help.
The campaign has kicked off this morning with a huge social offensive with TV airing later on today, running throughout the week.
