Susana is an advertising and media veteran who roots in adtech and digital media. During the pandemic, Susana switched gears and entered the gig economy via helping private companies and startups design and develop their much needed business transformation strategies. Her most recent projects include digital transformation and operational optimization for an agency startup, Cambridge Creative, business transformation and eCommerce acceleration for Asia’s leading luxury publishing company, Tatler Asia, and media productisation and growth acceleration for SE Asia’s largest parenting website and community, theAsiaparent.com under The Parent Inc Group.
Prior to the pandemic, Susana was the Group CEO of Dentsu International China managing 22 agency brands across 5 cities in the nation (notably Carat, Vizeum, DentsuX, Dentsu China, Isobar, iProspect, McGarry Bowen, Merkle, etc). She designed and optimized the business to provide integrated services to some of China’s most prestigious brands.
From 2013-2018, Susana was the CEO of PHD Asia Pacific where she led the agency from a small outfit to become the best new business performing and the highest awarded media agency in Asia Pacific, launching 2 new markets (India and Korea) and winning new clients including Unilever, GSK, Ferrero and the VW Group. In 2017, she was recognized as CampaignAsia’s Regional Agency Head of the Year.
Prior to PHD, she was the COO of OgilvyOne APAC where she managed Mergers & Acquisitions, Partnerships, new business model development, Digital and Emerging Markets. She started at Ogilvy when she joined the group to start up [email protected] across Asia Pacific where she built theri digital media practice delivering digital media strategy/ analytics / search / programmatic in 16 offices across 11 countries winning clients such as IBM, Cisco, Kodak, American Express, China Mobile, Motorola and J&J.
Susana started her advertising journey in Hong Kong where she joined a digital ad-network startup, Space Asia Media, as Asia’s first banner ad salesperson.
She is an active participant to industry bodies where she serves as jury to various international marketing effectiveness & creativity award shows and speaker to many festivals such as Cannes Festival of Creativity and Festival of Media. She also was a keen mentor at Mediaworks across many years.
Susana has a Bachelor of Science from the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada and a Certificate of eCommerce from the Australian Graduate School of Management. She participates actively on the Advisory Boards of iAB, iMedia Connections, Digital Matters, ad:Tech, etc. She is also a big advocate of young woman in Advertising, Marine Conservation and Save the Sharks initiatives.
