Walk the Talk returns with its latest ‘Be Seen Be Heard’ session

Women boardroom

On January 25th, women across MediaCom gathered online once again for a Walk the Talk session, this time focusing on the topic “Be Seen Be Heard”.

Led by Sonya Arthur, Managing Partner and Head of The Entertainment Division, the session encouraged us to think about our own personal brand, what sits at the core of who we are, and how we can be seen and heard in our working lives.

Having been at MediaCom for the past 22 years, covering a variety of different roles within different teams, Sonya has had tonnes of experience in what enables us to show up to work authentically, as well as practical tips on how be and feel heard.

A few of Sonya’s insightful tips included:

  • Trust yourself and those around you. You got to where are because people have faith in you, so trust that they have good reason!
  • Confidence is like a muscle – you need to build it.
  • Every one of your opinions are valid. Don’t worry so much about saying the ‘wrong’ thing. If it doesn’t work, simply learn from it, and move on.
  • Shout about what you’re doing! So often we are working on amazing projects and creating exemplary work, yet we don’t let one another know! Let’s start sharing our great work and claiming the floor to do so.

These sessions continue to provide an invaluable platform for women from across the agency to connect and share experiences whilst supporting one another with practical advice. Stay tuned for more to come throughout the year!
