We may not be able to celebrate spooky season in our usual ways, but horror stops for nothing – and the same can be said for brands who are trying their best to keep the thrill of Halloween alive this year.
We have seen some examples in the lead up to Halloween this year with brands on a mission to terrify, inspire and delight consumers with some monstrous media madness.
Fast food takes on “Bloody Mary”
Burger King once again picked on its rival McDonalds with a brilliant Halloween campaign which plays on the “Bloody Mary” urban legend. The fast-food chain installed voice-recognition software in the restrooms of select restaurants in Sweden in Denmark. If a customer says “cancelled clown” three times in front of the mirror, the lights will dim and vision of absolutely terrifying Ronald McDonald will appear.

If you are feline in the mood for something a little more quirky this Halloween, Mars has your cat covered. In a promotion for their cat treat brand Temptations, they have launched a new horror film just for our moggy friends. Turning the old horror tropes on their head, this short film will scare the treats out of you… if you are a cat.
It’s just a bunch of Hocus Pocus
Tiktok is definitely the place to be for Halloween celebrations that we consume safely at home; #HalloweenMakeUp and #HorrorTok both have over 2 billion tags on the platform. Take a look at some of the incredibly creative macabre make-up looks here.

Halloween at Home with Samsung
A poll of 2,000 British adults by Samsung shines a spotlight on how the nation plans to celebrate Halloween this year. The results suggest that over half of those surveyed (55%) will be finding new ways to celebrate. In advance of this year’s Halloween celebrations, Samsung Electronics UK Ltd have created a show stopping themed display to demonstrate the connective power of Samsung SmartThings technology, whilst also showing you how to replicate some of the effects (I say some).
