This week, Sue Unerman and Andrew Spurrier-Dawes talk to Murray Calder. Murray is the CSO for MediaCom Edinburgh and the former chair of the IPA in Scotland, a fellow of both the IPA and The Marketing Society and a DJ.
Murray studied economics at the University of Glasgow and then between 1992 and 2004 he worked in brand management roles for single malt whiskies including The Macallan and Highland Park before becoming Global Marketing Manager for The Famous Grouse. During his time in the whisky industry he was responsible for a global relaunch of The Famous Grouse, several highly successful and innovative global product launches and the development of marketing strategies which delivered significant overseas growth for Scotland’s best loved whisky brands.
Listen to Murray talk about what makes a brilliant strategist beyond the obvious, the jump from client to agency and the keys to resilience.
