Businesses are adapting, the travel industry innovates, and hope is sparked as thousands tune in daily to witness life blossom in a young woman’s paddling pool. In week 13 of lockdown, it’s time for a fresh start.

First Hello

As 15th June marks the return of the English high street, so it has become a ‘first hello’ for OOH. JCD predicts that the audience for roadside 6 sheets and large-format billboard will be 60% pre lockdown levels. In order to mark this important moment, the out of home giant has launched a ‘back to business’ hub that contains the latest audience insight and intelligence. eBay, The British Red Cross and Unicef will be amongst those brands returning for the ‘first hello’.

Go Near

With the slow easing of lockdown, we are all clamouring to get away somewhere… anywhere! A week on an exotic beach would be ideal but the current reality is that staycations are the only option for most of us. Small and local businesses have been severely impacted in recent months, so Airbnb is stepping in to meet the needs of everyone with the launch of ‘Go Near’ – a new service to partner local governments and tourism agencies with those looking to explore a little closer to home.

TikTok Tadpoles in Tyrone (not Derry)

Many of us have taken up new habits during lockdown and as far as I’m concerned, this pandemic was providing me with a new beginning; think New Year New Me. However, I bet none of us have mothered 37,927 new beginnings during the last few months- except the dotingly dubbed “Tadpole Girl” from Northern Ireland. The Tyrone based frog mum has been documenting her babies’ journey through TikTok and subsequently gained a fan base on Twitter.
