With over 25 years’ experience, Adrian Walcott joins the agency to advise on company strategy and drive its ‘People First’ agenda
MediaCom UK announces the appointment of Adrian Walcott, its first external board advisor and one of the most sought-after industry voices in helping to decode culture, inclusion and business transformation.
Adrian brings a wealth of experience to the role having worked in the media, marketing and advertising industry for some of the UK’s most recognisable companies for over 25 years. Starting his career in advertising at Ogilvy, he has since held senior positions at Barclays Bank, where he was responsible for brand internalisation, before leading on brand product and social media marketing at Eurostar.
What’s more, he is the co-founder of Noturningback2020.com – a social enterprise which focuses on encouraging more people from diverse ethnic backgrounds into the marketing, media and communications sector – and he launched Brands With Values that specialises in building culture, inspiring inclusion and driving transformation for some of the UK’s leading businesses.
Starting immediately, Walcott joins MediaCom’s team of 12 UK Executive Committee board members in a consulting capacity. Its Executive Committee team is proud to champion diversity with a 50-50 gender split – a positive representation in the industry and wider society in general.
Walcott will provide an external viewpoint on MediaCom’s culture and work in partnership with the leadership team as a critical friend and to ensure the avoidance of ‘group think’. MediaCom UK haven’t had an external board advisor before and have been looking for an independent and provocative voice to push, challenge and enhance their thinking.
Kate Rowlinson, CEO at MediaCom UK, said: “Adrian’s energy and passion is going to be vital in helping MediaCom build on the already great work we’re doing. He brings a genuine pedigree and experience to the role that I hope will continue to challenge our leadership and make sure we’re the best we can be. I’m thrilled he’s joining and looking forward to working closely with him to help our clients – as well as MediaCom – see the bigger picture.”
Adrian Walcott, said “I am delighted to be joining a board that doesn’t just share my values around people first, but is actively holding itself to account on the role culture play’s in driving meaningful and sustainable transformation.”
