MediaCom tops COMvergence New Business Barometer study

Agency revealed as the top performing media agency in pitches in H1 2017

According to the latest global benchmarking study New Business Barometer H1 2017 by COMvergence, MediaCom is the top media agency in new business in H1 2017.

This result is mainly thanks to two major new global client wins (Walgreens-Boots and PSA Peugeot-Citroen), which generated incremental billings of +$1bn. Also, the agency retained two major local clients (FAW Volkswagen in China and P&G in Germany). Two other GroupM agencies ranked in the top 5: MEC (3rd) and Mindshare (5th).

COMvergence’s quarterly report RADAR / New Business Barometer provides a comprehensive analysis and assessment examining major global, regional and local media pitches & moves that had been completed during the past quarter. Agency and Group rankings are provided based on total new business results (new clients wins – losses + retentions).

This present study is built upon the assessment of 500 media pitches and moves completed between January and June 2017 in 21 key markets (Argentina, Australia, Canada, China, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, India, Italy, Mexico, Middle-East, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Russia, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, UK and USA).

Among the top six media agency groups, GroupM sits in 1st place with +$2 200m in total new business results (or +$960m in net new business).
