Sergey Khokhlov, the CEO of MediaCom in Russia and the Ukraine, will be carrying the Olympic torch this afternoon.
Sergey Kholkov, CEO of MediaCom Russia and Ukraine, will be carrying the flame in Novosibirsk in Siberia as part of the torch’s 123-day journey across Russia (and even into space) in the buildup to the Sochi Olympics next year.
Sergey will run 300m with the torch as part of a team of 14,000 participants who will carry the Olympic flame on its journey from the home of the Olympics in Greece to the opening ceremony in Sochi in February 2014.
He will be allowed to keep his torch after the event and has promised to take it to the Moscow office to show the whole team.
In addition, Olesya Koupnevskaya, head of print at MediaCom Russia, has also been selected to take part in the relay. Her run will take place in Voronezh in South-West Russia early next year.
This incredible opportunity has arisen as a thank you from Olympic Torch Relay partner and MediaCom client Volkswagen Group in recognition of the extraordinary effort Sergey, Olesya and the rest of the MediaCom team dedicate to their brands.
The team in Moscow are working hard to hard to ensure that clients such as VW and Procter & Gamble are able to maximize the value of their involvement in this global event.
This work includes developing a digital content partnership for Procter & Gamble as well as integrated communications platforms for Volkswagen Group brands such as Audi, Commercial Volkswagen, Skoda and VW.
