The Team

MediaCom has worked with The Coca-Cola Company for many years and we have continued to grow and evolve our relationship with this client through charter work and pitching at a high frequency. We currently undertake media planning and buying for TCCC in over 25 markets globally including large markets such as Mexico, GB, Germany and Russia as well as developing markets in Central Eastern Europe, Africa and APAC.

Due to the nature of the MediaCom assignment for TCCC, the Global team is split across London and Singapore and operates at a senior level working with both Global and regional client leads as well as our local market teams across the network.

TCCC is a top 10 client for MediaCom and a high profile account in terms of what it means to the agency.

The Role

One of the reasons why TCCC stand out in the world of communications is the fact that they have successfully embedded their brands in to cultural moments that resonate with people across the globe. In order to achieve this, we have to relentlessly pursue interesting insights that we can apply to our connections strategies to make them meaningful and scalable.

They are also on a journey of digital transformation to understand how to best move the organisation forward in an environment of changing media consumption habits and digital disruption.

The Global team at MediaCom support TCCC across their portfolio of brands in understanding how to drive growth and relevance in markets where there are varying challenges around changing consumption behaviour, increased competition and sustainability

The Global Strategy Director will work directly with the TCCC global / regional account leadership teams and MediaCom local markets, and will be expected to provide strategic support, counsel and inspiration to the wider account team.

Key Objectives:

  • Develop & deliver a data driven strategy for TCCC including investment guidelines and planning approaches for programmatic buying, AV planning & bedrock requirements for digital plans
  • Provide a point of view on how CPG brands most effectively manage a portfolio of products in an evolving digital landscape
  • Develop guidance around integrating eCommerce in to the wider media mix
  • Identify sources of growth for TCCC at a market level backed by data and insight
  • Work with local markets to support development of strategic responses for pitches
  • Create test and learn programmes for engagement measurement to ensure TCCC are maximising return on investment
  • Share best practice and research with local agency teams to inform better local planning
  • Deliver digital & content strategy updates to local teams to provide them with the latest information on content available & channel recommendations

To be successful you’ll

  • Be comfortable, confident and assertive working with senior global clients and agency partners; communicate with authority and gravitas in writing, in speech and in person

  • Be highly collaborative with internal teams, external partners, and clients across multiple disciplines including (but not limited to) brand planning, comms, research and insight, media strategy, and CRM; a welcome, valued presence on every call/in every meeting

  • Identify relevant specialist resource requirements throughout MediaCom, to enable delivery of brilliant communications planning
  • Provide internal thought leadership and seek out inspiration from the outside world, to enhance the strategic planning capabilities of the wider account team

You’ll need to:

  • Have in depth experience within the media industry, and been in a dedicated account planning, media or communications strategy role where you had responsibility for key senior client relationships
  • Be highly confident and skilled at using and applying relevant planning tools and resources e.g. TGI, Touchpoints, WARC, GWI, Google Analytics
  • Have previous experience working on major global/multi-market accounts, working with multi-disciplinary agencies (i.e. creative, digital, PR, POS) and with local market teams. CPG experience is desirable
  • Be confident in leading and working on strategic pitch responses to clearly articulate an engaging response
  • Have strong experience in working closely with market research, media and client data to identify audience insights and communications opportunities which deliver client growth
  • Have excellent written & verbal English language skills; a great storyteller
  • Be organised and structured, with strong attention to detail; an effective, efficient working style
  • Have a high level of competence with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Demonstrable record of strategic accomplishment – new business success, positive client feedback, award recognition
