MediaCom wins five awards at Cannes Lions

MediaCom won a Bronze Lion for its 'Welcome Back' campaign for T-Mobile and four more awards for its work as the accredited media agency in other categories.

MediaCom has picked up five awards across the board at this year's Cannes Lions awards. MediaCom UK was awarded a Bronze Lion in the Best use of integrated media category for its 'Welcome Home' campaign for T-Mobile, a campaign that was also shortlisted in the Commercial public services incl. healthcare category.

Elsewhere, we also picked up two silver and two bronze awards for its work as the accredited media agency in the following categories:

  • Best Use of Integrated Media (Silver): 'Dated Pillows', Pacific Brands, MediaCom Sydney (with Happy Soldiers)
  • Other Consumer Products (including Durable Goods) (Silver): 'Dated Pillows', Pacific Brands, MediaCom Sydney (with Happy Soldiers)
  • Best Use of Print (Bronze): 'Test Drive', Volkswagen, MediaCom Olso (with Try Advertising Agency)
  • Best Use of Special Events and Stunt/Live Advertising (Bronze): 'Welcome Back', T-Mobile, MediaCom London (with Saatchi & Saatchi, London)
  • MediaCom's significant contribution to the awards ensured that GroupM was the most decorated media group on the shortlist. MediaCom's six other shortlisted entries were as follows:
  • Best Use of Sponsorship: 'The Biggest TV Show Ever Sold', P&G, MediaCom China
  • Best use of integrated media: 'Galaxy Reading', Mars, MediaCom UK
  • Two campaigns for Volkswagen, both from MediaCom USA, were shortlisted in the Cars & automotive services category: 'PunchDub' as well as 'Winning the Super Bowl'
  • The Corporate image and information category also saw two MediaCom entries on the shortlist: 'Powering the Future', Shell, MediaCom USA and 'Philippe's Project', T-Mobile, MediaCom Austria
