Delivered as part of a bigger music strategy for SEAT, MBA's award was for the team's achievements for the 'On Track with SEAT' series
MBA and SEAT have won the award for Music and Brand Partnership of the Year at the prestigious Music Week Awards. Held on 24 May, the Awards are unique as they are able to focus on every sector within the music industry from A&R, digital, live, management and music production to marketing, media, music publishing and PR promotion. Delivered as part of a bigger music strategy for SEAT, MBA's award was for the team's achievments for the 'On Track with SEAT' series, an AFP (ad-funding programming) series developed with Globe Productions and Universal Music. The series, which consisted of 12×15 minute programmes broadcast on Channel 4, invited contemporary musicians to record three tracks in three hours direct to vinyl. Capturing the recording process on film, the musicians were asked to include one of their favourite cover versions in their trio of songs and produce their own cover art for the record. Featured artists included Ellie Goulding, Foals, The Drums, Tinchy Stryder, Amy MacDonald, Bombay Bicycle Club and Robyn, and was filmed in the famous Metropolis Studios in London. As part of the partnership with Universal SEAT made 10,000 copies of a track from each artist session available as a free download, along with exclusive content from the recordings. Huge credit goes to Sinead Peters and Ryan D'Cruz, as well as the wider Events/Partnerships/Sponsorship team led by Louise Brown. Check out the shows below:
