    What’s media buying and planning?

Media buying and planning are often undertaken by a media agency on behalf of a client. Clients are advertisers, brand owners, governments and charities usually trying to sell a product or service though they will sometimes engage a media buying and planning agency to help change consumer's perception or just create general awareness. The process of media buying and planning involves the use of research into the target demographic to derive a deep insight into the media consumption habits and purchasing behaviours of those consumers. This research may span neuroscience research, keeping up to speed with new media developments and marketing trends as well as quantitative and qualitative research.

Once this analysis is complete in the media buying and planning process, the media planner develops a media campaign based on these observations which aims to achieve a client's commercial business objectives through the use of advertising platforms that will best reach the end-user - the client's target audience.
